Ending Recap for October

Well, we come to the end of October. That means come midnight tonight, only 60 days remain in the contest. Coming right down to the wire, isn't it? Well, what else could you say about it? So, how did we do this month, you might ask. Well, read on.

Our current leaderboard shows yours truly still holding on to 1st place with a grand total of 80 wins. Hard to believe it's still standing, considering everyone had a prime opportunity to tie or even 1up me. Okay, I couldn't resist throwing in a little video game humor. Our 2nd place contender, boyward, managed to edge closer with a grand total of 69 wins, but megabuster44 is close on his heels with 67 wins. The remaining places are Sargus at 4th with 53, Nelson S. at 5th with 25, smash at 6th with 20, Luinnar at 7th with 11, and both ChristianGamer and charlieturtle, after a recount, lie in 8th place with 7 wins each.

We did see one major upset this month, with megabuster managing to unseat Sargus for 3rd place, and it almost looked like he would have easily pushed past boyward as well. But boyward proved he wasn't beaten yet. Something tells me we haven't see the last of close matches between these two. The real question is, who will be able to overtake our current 1st place holder?

In terms of wins, the real deal is with megabust44. Though some of his wins were only reported wins from earlier, he has managed to add a whopping 18 wins for all of October. Among those wins were the very long RPG, Bravely Default, and Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze for the 3DS and Wii U respectfully. According to megabuster, Tropical Freeze was a true challenge, and since I'm still in the process of playing through Bravely Default, I can tell you that one is no walk in the park either. So, clearly, we've seen a lot of action from megabuster.

Nelson S. also managed to add a fair amount of wins this month, with a grand total of 7. One especially notable win was The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. I've also played that game this year, and I must say that is one that is a real jewel in any contestant's crown. Well done, Nelson S.

SeriousGamer and boyward added 4 games each this month. We've seen a lot from both of them (I should know being one of them). So, it's been a somewhat slow month, but this contest isn't over yet.

Sargus posted 2 wins and Luinnar posted only 1.

So, that's the ending recap for October. As we head into November, we all wonder what sort of changes will take place. The temperatures are expected to dip early on for some places. I wonder if the same will be true of games. As they say, time will tell.

As for me, I intend to hopefully polish off Bravely Default among others. As for what those others are, well you'll see. I recently added Batman: Arkham City to my collection, so that will also be another hopeful. And there's a few others that I've never seen the end of, so I'm very interested in trying to do just that.

Keep playing, gamers. Keep playing.
