Starting Off Your Collection

Wow, has it really been that long since I posted anything? I guess things get away from you when you're back in the classroom. Can't blame me much for that, though. When your brain hurts, it's hard to want to do anything that involves thought. Of course, that's what the weekend is for. So, after a long absence, here's my latest.

The High Scores of Video Games

I bet I know what you're thinking when you read this title. You're thinking about those numbers that start out at 0 and go up as you clear levels, beat enemies, grab stuff, or whatever you do. On a video game blog, that would be probably be the assumption, and I probably could devote a post to talk about some high scores I've gotten. But I have a different kind of score in mind.

*grabs baton*

That's right, I'm talking about music.

3 Months Down - 9 More to Go

Well, we're a third of the way there. My time goes by fast. It's been kind of a slow month too, at least it seems that way to me. In fact, that was going to be the original title of this post, "At Least It Seems that Way to Me." Okay, I'm kidding on that part. But it did seem like a bit of a slow month in this contest. Still, let's see how we did.

The Best in Casual Gaming

It seems that some genres get more attention than others. It seems to me that genres like action, shooter, or even RPG get a lot of attention, at least on the console front. And you know, I'm fine with that. I enjoy a good action-packed romp or a deep story through some fantasy world as most RPGs tend to lean. But sometimes, I feel like something a little more...casual.

Well, it's been a while since I had something to say about a game I played. Usually, I post about games I've beaten for the contest and/or games I just found memorable. But we all go through moments where nothing comes. It's a condition that's been dubbed writer's block. Of course, I prefer writer's blah. But now, I take my first steps to recovery.

Short Month, Short Recap

Well, it's the end of yet another month. I'd say it's time for some serious thought -  a little time of reflection, of consideration...okay time's up. I don't know about you, but all I've been considering is just how cold the month of February has been. The other thing I've been considering is whether it's pronounced Feb-ru-ary or Feb-u-ary. Personally, I prefer Feb-u-ary. But anyway, even though the month has been cold, this contest has been anything but.

A Speedy Run Through

We all enjoy the thrill of victory in our games, at least I hope we do. I know I've enjoyed the thrill of completing a game, especially when that game is long and drawn-out and particularly tough. But there's a particular kind of thrill when completing one of those long, drawn out games in what you might consider record time.
