Well, it's that time of year. October is here. Only a short while until we have this years winner. Hey time flies. Now, most of my readers probably will flip out when they hear this, but October will also bring what was one of my favorite holidays. That's right, I'm talking about Halloween. Now, before anyone gets the wrong idea, I enjoyed it solely for the candy...that and bringing my favorite knight costume out of mothballs. Of course, now that I'm a bit older, I can get just the candy from the store. Much less work. Besides, there are too many games to play to worry about dressing up. Plus, my knight costume probably wouldn't fit me anymore.

Greetings gamers, readers, and all you nameless people who have stumbled upon my blog. I'm back again, except this time, it's a follow up to another post. I'd just edit the old one, but I don't really want to. Of course, if I just made a post as something of an add-in, there probably wouldn't be much. I bet I know what you're thinking when you read this title. You're thinking about those numbers that start out at 0 and go up as you clear levels, beat enemies, grab stuff, or whatever you do. On a video game blog, that would be probably be the assumption, and I probably could devote a post to talk about some high scores I've gotten. But I have a different kind of score in mind.

We all enjoy the thrill of victory in our games, at least I hope we do. I know I've enjoyed the thrill of completing a game, especially when that game is long and drawn-out and particularly tough. My, my where does time go? I wish I knew, especially when it came to this little contest. Of course, knowing where all my time goes in real life might help to. I'd sure like to drag some of that time back a ways. But what can you do?

Anyway, that's enough musing, unless I happen to play a game that revolves around time travel...let's see, Chrono Trigger, Prince of Persia, the 2nd Mario & Luigi game, wait didn't I do that one already? Now, let's get down to business. Or would this contest be more pleasure?

The Backlog Blues - Part 1 Sega Genesis

Well, still no new game news yet. I haven't had much chance to play, and there really isn't much for me to say. Okay, maybe there is, and I might get to say something. After all, basketball season starts soon, and I did just win a basketball game not that long ago. But I digress. I thought it was time for something new. I thought I'd give you all a look into just how serious a gamer I am with a look into my backlog.

Okay, so maybe it's not exactly halfway, but how can you split a month with 31 days right down the middle? Only 76 days left in the contest, or 75 if you happen to live a few timezones out, so let's see how things stand so far through October.

So, here we are with the month of September halfway over. I wish I'd gotten at this blog sooner. Maybe I could have captured the experience better. But it's a little tricky to do that now, unless Guide 2 Games decides to do another contest.

Greetings, programs. I don't know why, I just find Jeff Bridge's line from Tron funny. I guess it fits too, seeing as this is a blog for programs, just ones you can have a little fun with and waste your time with all at the same time. Personally, I prefer the having fun bit.

Now, you may be wondering more about why this blog exists, where the name came from, why I have a page marked 'leader board,' etc. Well, I can't say as I blame you, but it'll all come in time.
